Paramnesia (we are nowhere and it's now), appropriates footage from Alain Renais' film Last Year in Marienbad, and references Deleuze's writings on cinema, specifically his notion of the 'time image'. In this approach to the image, time escapes causality and through displacement, gives rise to disconnected spaces - 'sheets of time'- planes that intersect and mutate constantly.
Time Before Time was filmed in Berlin's Tiergarten using a camera mounted on a bicycle and a painting of the last page of Proust's Remembrance of Things Past from his handwritten notebooks. The piece references Proust's notion of 'a fragment of time in the pure state', a moment in which the past and present simultaneously exist as virtual and actual.
